This whiskey-infused winter ale has a deep reddish-brown color and displays a light beige foam when poured. When bottled, this ale was enhanced with a smoky Scotch Isle Whisky. On the nose, nice but not too overbearing smoky notes and bacon fat. The finish on the palate of this full-bodied beer is slightly sweet. Berry-like dried fruit notes punctuate the elegant smoky flavors of the whiskey. The finish is characterized by a rather subtle bitterness. The harmonious interplay of selected malts, aroma hops, yeast and the whiskey aged in sherry and bourbon barrels results in this rustic pleasure beer.
